Barbara Duncanson writes about Bridges and Getting Ahead in Women in Higher Education, March 2011.  She writes, "Educators and researchers are learning that poverty is a more important marker of the probability of student success than race or gender. This translates into a double hit for poor white women and a triple hit for poor women of color."
